Raised in Wisconsin, Dr. Turbes originally moved to the Twin Cities to attend the University of Minnesota for her undergraduate studies. She then moved west to Portland, Oregon, where she obtained both her Master of Science as well as Doctor of Psychology degrees in Clinical Psychology at Pacific University. While in graduate school, Dr. Turbes focused her education and training in child/adolescent psychology as well as pediatric psychology. Throughout graduate school, she worked and trained at Oregon Health & Science University, providing psychological services to children and adolescents diagnosed with chronic medical conditions.

Dr. Turbes completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship, specializing in child/adolescent and pediatric psychology, at a large regional medical center in Texas. She then returned to Minnesota for her post-doctoral fellowship at an epilepsy/neurology specialty clinic in St. Paul. During her fellowship, Dr. Turbes predominantly worked with children and adolescents who were diagnosed with epilepsy, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) (also known as Conversion Disorder), or both. She then worked for a number of years at an Integrative Medicine Clinic within a community mental health organization before continuing her career at a local children’s hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she provides inpatient and outpatient services to child, adolescent and young adult patients.
